Clean Water
U.S. drinking water contains more than 2,100 toxic chemicals that can cause cancer. –Ralph Nader Research Institute
Chlorine, chloramines, and fluoride in addition to a number of other chemicals are added regularly to municipal water systems to disinfect the water, kill germs, bacteria and other living organisms. While the need to deal with the contaminants in water is important, these chemicals can harm the body and have a detrimental effect on hormonal production and use. The human body is composed of billions of cells. Chlorine readily passes through the cell wall and attaches to fatty acids of the cell, disrupting life sustaining functions. Having a bath tub water filter or drinking water filter helps reduce or eliminate these chemicals.
Bottled water is virtually unregulated. The FDA laws on bottled water only require it to be as good as tap water, not better. And the FDA regulations only apply if the water is transported across a state line. Most bottled water is bottled and sold in the same state in order to avoid regulation.
