Hyssop – Expel gas Common Names: Hyssop.

Parts Used: Tops and leaves.

True hyssopHyssopus officinalis, is an edible member of the mint family that’s been used in a wide variety of foods, drinks, folk remedies, and even perfumes. Compared to other plants known as hyssops, true hyssop is safe to eat and is found in a variety of spice mixes and foods.

Bodily Influences: Hyssop is an herb mentioned often in the Bible. In the Old Testament Psalms 51:7 Hyssop is recommended to clean and purify the body. More modern use elaborates on the property of Hyssop as a regulator and reducer of high blood pressure as well as increasing circulation. Hyssop lubricates internal tissue fluids and sweeps away debris to prepare clean surfaces for absorption and elimination, thus, Hyssop is an hygienic herb. Through this action, surfaces of lungs, stomach, blood vessels and all vital body parts are cleaned internally. Hyssop provides one of the most basic approaches that can be taken to restore system functions.
