Both the crunchy bulb and the seeds of the fennel plant have a mild, licorice-like flavor. Yet, the flavor of the seeds is more potent due to their powerful essential oils.
Aside from its many culinary uses, fennel and its seeds offer a wide array of health benefits and may provide antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial effects.
DOSE: For estrogen regulating properties, 40 drops 3 times per day. As an eye bath, 20 drops in ½ cup of distilled water two to three times per day. Hold a cotton ball soaked with the water-diluted Fennel extract above eyes and squeeze drops out and let run into the eyes for 5 minutes at a time. Repeat 3 times per day. Do both eyes, even if only one eye has the problem. They are sympathetic. Take 40 drops, as a treat, after meals as a digestive aid and to prevent gas. Then don’t eat again until you are actually hungry.
Directions on label: For adults, mix 2 ml of extract in 2 oz (60 ml) of water one time daily preferably with a meal.
